What’s going to happen to our Economy under a Leni or a Bongbong regime?

May 06, 2022

This is probably the most impassioned episode I’ve had in my show “Money Lessons with FQ Mom.” As a background, an hour before the show, I was told by management of FYE Channel on Kumu that I cannot discuss politics in my show, no mention of names.

I was called by the boss and we had a discussion why. I also told him that I cannot not mention names, so I said I will just have the show in my personal channels.

My guest is Diwa Guinigundo, a very respected personality when it comes to the Philippine economy. He was the Deputy Governor of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas when he retired in 2019. He graduated cum laude taking up AB Economics and at the top of his class at the University of the Philippines. He later on earned his masters degree in Economics at the London School of Economics, as a scholar of Central Bank. He rose from the ranks in this organization.

He was assistant governor for monetary policy and international operations. He was the head of Research at the South East Asian Central Banks in Kuala Lumpur, and was also the Alternate Executive Director at the IMF in Washington DC. There’s a lot more to say about his credentials.

Now, he is a prolific writer, dishing out his well-written articles in Business World and Manila Bulletin every week. In this episode, we discuss the platforms of the presidential frontrunners of the May 9, 2022 elections: Bongbong Marcos Jr. and VP Leni Robredo.

I discovered something about our guest only in this episode, after having known him for quite some time. He spoke with authority what really happened in the Marcos era not only because he studied it, but because he himself experienced it. Watch this to have a well-informed vote on May 9, 2022.
