Do I have to be a math genius to be good at managing my money? What if I’m just one of those people who can’t be rich? If I’m not good at finance, how can I even teach my kids? These are some common questions we often hear from people when talking about money but I am here to tell you that these are all MONEY MYTHS.
Money is a sensitive or taboo topic to most people. We all grew up with our own personal beliefs about money that we learned from our parents, our peers or the environment we grew up in. But what we don’t realize is that some of these may be myths and are actually hindering you from developing a high FQ.
In today’s episode, I talk to Reese Fernandez-Ruiz (President and Co-Founder of Rags2Riches), Erwin Angeles (former stockbroker now Senior Manager at Investagrams Inc.) and Bea Trinidad (PR and Communications Manager at CCA Manila) as they share some of their own money myths, how these affected their lives, how they debunked the myths, and how such liberation has made them improve their relationship with money.
After hearing their own stories, are there any money myths that you may have grown up with too? As we continue our #FQMondayHabit, try to reflect and write down your own limiting money myths. Identify their purpose and decide whether you’d rather keep the myth and the cozy alibis they serve or is it time to debunk them. The choice is on you! May this reflection continue to help you become financially happy! 🙂
