Merry Christmas!
It’s another year to be thankful for. 2016 was an interesting year for our country, the world in general, and for our family in particular. We hope yours was a great one too.
Our oldest Martin, who recently ventured into his own brand consultancy, continues to grow his roster of clients for Brand’em. Enrique, our second, finished his management training at a local bank and a stint at its Treasury Department and is now with Deutsche Regis, a top stock brokerage, as a Research Associate. Our youngest Anton finished his one semester stint at Audencia Sciencescom in Nantes, France as an exchange student and just got back home in time for Christmas.
Marvin and I felt the reality of empty nesting this year as we’ve had a good number of days with no single son at home. Fortunately, despite missing the boys, we still enjoy each other’s company after 27 years! I think our shared dreams keep us excited to this day. He accompanied me to my dream meetings with my mentors in Behavioral Economics (B.E.) Dan Ariely at the Duke University, and the father of B.E. himself, Richard Thaler at the University of Chicago, who bestowed on me the title of being the first Filipino Behavioral Economist! 🙂 So FQMom.com is now heavy on the psychology of money because sadly, financial education is not enough.
Marvin’s IFE Management Advisers, Inc. continues to pursue its dream of making Investing For Everyone (yes that’s the meaning of IFE). His project with COL Financial, the COL Fund Source, has reached P1 billion AUM (Assets Under Management).
The year 2017 promises to be both challenging and exciting for all of us. Thank you for subscribing to my website, and together with my family, here’s wishing you a meaningful celebration of Christmas. May the birth of Jesus remind you of your purpose and the many wonderful things He has blessed you with. May 2017 be your best year ever!
Sincerely,
Rose
