Former Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima at the FQ Book 2
Cesar Purisima was our Finance Secretary (2005, 2010-1016). He was awarded Finance Minister of the Year in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015. I got to know Cesar back in the 1990s when I was still an investment banker before I decided to be a full-time homemaker. He was then the Managing Director of SGV and we did investment banking deals together, one of them was for Asian Terminals, Inc. (ATI, it’s similar to ICTSI), a deal that was signed in Singapore so we travelled together, and the typical mom I was, I also bought pasalubong toys for my kids, especially because at that time, we still didn’t have Toys r’ Us. So, one time, he and the other top honcho at SGV, Dave Balangue, had to carry my bulky pasalubongs. I remember him saying in jest, “Ginawa mo kaming stevedore (like those in ATI) a!”
Thanks for this message Cesar, and for being my stevedore/kargador back in the day!
