The First BSP Financial Education Stakeholders’ Expo
The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas held its first ever expo on Financial Education. BSP has been conducting several initiatives and events with separate groups but Managing Director of the Inclusive Finance Advocacy Office and Concurrent Head of the Financial Consumer Protection Department, Pia Roman Tayag said that this year they decided to hold one big event inviting all the stakeholders of financial education.
The 2-day event was attended by financial institutions, teachers, financial education advocates, regulators, foundations, media, both from here and abroad.
Here’s the session I moderated. I opened with a short talk on our need to use Behavioral Economics principles in dealing with our money behaviors.
This was followed by four speakers and a short open forum. The speakers were:
- Dr. Noi Keng Koh, Chairperson, Center for Financial Literacy Singapore
- Marc Fancy, Executive Director, Prudence Foundation
- Mari-An Albert, CEO, The Praxis Company
- Mylene Lopa, Chief Marketing Officer, Sun Life Financial
